Woolworths now open at Hammond Park Shopping Centre

A new chapter has begun for Hammond Park, with Woolworths now open at Hammond Park Shopping Centre and more retailers set to join the centre over the coming months.

After years of growth and new families calling Hammond Park home, the community now has a new local shopping destination designed to meet the needs of everyday life.

Located on the corner of Wattleup Road and Whadjuk Drive, Hammond Park Shopping Centre officially opened its doors on the 9th September 2026, with Woolworths and BWS now trading and a growing mix of specialty retailers preparing to join the centre.

For the local community, the opening represents more than a new supermarket. It brings everyday groceries, food, services and convenience closer to home,  while creating new opportunities for local businesses, workers and the wider community.

Hammond Park has experienced significant residential growth in recent years, creating a growing demand for convenient retail and everyday services within the local area.

Speaking when construction commenced in 2025, David Scaife MLA, State Member for Cockburn, said Hammond Park was a growing suburb that needed a major shopping centre, welcoming the State Government’s approval of the development and looking forward to seeing it open for local families.

The new centre provides approximately 6,000m² of retail space and 370 customer car bays, creating a convenient neighbourhood hub for Hammond Park and surrounding communities.

While Woolworths is now open and trading, Hammond Park Shopping Centre is continuing to grow. A range of specialty retailers are joining the centre over the coming months, newsagency, butcher, hairdresser, barber, nail bar, wood-fired pizza restaurant, national burger operator and kebab, with further opportunities continuing to be developed.

The result will be a convenient mix of food, retail, beauty, health and everyday services; giving locals more reasons to shop locally and spend less time travelling outside the area for their everyday needs. The arrival of new retailers brings new employment opportunities to the area, from supermarket and hospitality roles through to retail, beauty, services and health-related positions as the centre continues to fill.

Woolworths itself recruited team members for the new Hammond Park store ahead of opening, creating new roles for people in the local area.

As additional businesses open their doors, the centre will continue to create opportunities for local employment and support the growing local economy.

For a predominantly residential suburb, that is an important part of what a neighbourhood centre can bring,  not only somewhere to shop, but somewhere to work, meet, eat and connect.

Aigle Royal Group was proud to welcome David Scaife MLA, City of Cockburn Mayor Logan Howlett and CEO Daniel Simms to help mark the opening, alongside the project team and delivery partners.

Aigle Royal Group developed and delivered the project, with construction by Hoskins and architectural design by Hames Sharley Architects, working alongside Woolworths and the future specialty retailers to bring the centre to life.

And while Woolworths opening marks a major milestone, it is only the beginning.
